In one of the stranger partnerships we’ve seen, Farmers Insurance teamed up with Marvel for a new Avengers-themed commercial. Featuring agents wearing iconic costumes made out of everyday objects, it provides some great Halloween ideas for budget-minded nerds.

Over the past two years, we’ve been pushing hard to get you to watch ‘The Walking Dead.’ If our word isn’t enough, look at the numbers from Sunday night’s season finale. 9 million viewers tuned in, making it the most-watched TV episode in AMC’s history. What’s more surprising is that 6 million of the viewers were from the much desired and highly elusive 18-49 adult demographic.

Okay, we’re a little less bitter about ‘The Walking Dead’ having a “midseason finale.” What is a midseason finale? Is that like a bye week for TV shows or something? Anyway, AMC just released an official poster that marks the return of season 2, which will be back on February 12.

If you’re a fan of well-written shows, you probably love ‘Mad Men.’ You’re also probably pissed that AMC has continuously pushed back the new season for what seems like forever. It’s time to turn that frown upside-down because we now have a return date – Sunday, March 25. Get the scotch and Lucky Strikes ready.

This is not a replica of the iconic Dodge Charger from ‘Dukes of Hazzard,’ it’s the real thing. Used in the first episode of the series to jump a police car, feast your eyes on an authentic Hollywood treasure. This General Lee spent 23 years in an Atlanta junkyard before being painstakingly restored to its original glory over a 16-month period.

It’s crunch time and you still don’t have a costume. Don’t be lame and buy the weak-ass ‘Scream’ mask. If you’re pressed for time and short on money, head over to Kmart, yes Kmart, and get ‘The Walking Dead’ Rick Grimes costume. A hat, shirt, pants, and belt are included for a mere $25. You’ll have to supply the revolver and axe.

After each episode of ‘The Walking Dead’ this fall, we’ll have a chance to relieve the glory on ‘The Talking Dead,’ a new wrap-up show hosted by G4’s Chris Hardwick. It sounds pretty cool since they’re planning on including recaps, interviews with the cast and crew, and plenty of theorizing.

Sure, it’s almost that time of year to shower others with gifts, but we think it’s perfectly acceptable to spoil yourself one last time before the holiday season. Two of our all-time favorite HBO mini-series will be available together in a Blu-Ray gift pack starting November 8. Sure, ‘Band of Brothers’ was way better than ‘The Pacific,’ but it’s still worth the buy.
